Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Cochin
On arrival at air port / rail way station in Cochin you will be met and transported to Hotel at Cochin, the famous port of Kerala also known as “The Queen of Arabian Sea.” In the afternoon depart for a sightseeing of Cochin. Highlights include visit to the Jewish Synagogue, Dutch palace, St: Francis’s Church, where Vasco De gama was cremated, Chinese fishing nets at work and spend the evening for shopping and watching classical dance performance of Kathakali by night return to the hotel for over night stay.

Day 02: Cochin-Thattaekad 50 km
Distance : 45 Km
Early in the morning we will make our way to the lowland forests of Thattekkad, set on the shores of the Periyar River. The journey will take you through the spice gardens that have made Kerala famous all over the globe. On arrival you will be staying at a resort on the riverside. Jungle camp is the prefect setting for an evening of relaxation as you listen to the sounds of the forest.

Day 03: Thattekad-Adimali Distance : 58 Km
Early morning we will depart from the resort, spice plantations,countryside of pineapple plantations & rubber estates till we reach the foothills of the Western Ghats at Adimali..

Day 04: Adimaly –Munnar Distance : 30 Km
Today is a day of climbing to the heights at Munnar at over 1700 meters. We will pass through high altitude forests, manicured tea gardens, cardamom plantations and winding roads as we make it to our resort.

Day 05: Munnar – Chinnakkanal Distance 30 Km
After breakfast we will start our cycling trip today. Munnar, is lush green and one of the finest Hill stations in Kerala. It is situated at over 1500m. Munnar is famous for it’s tea plantations and scenic beauty. We will start just out side the town area through the tea gardens. We will have lunch en-route and reach our destination called Chinnakkanal. We will spend the night at the resort after camp fire and dinner.

Day 06: Cinnakkanal – Vandanmedu
Distance: 60 Km

Morning we will proceed after breakfast around the beautiful Anaerangal lake through the tea estates to Vandanmedu. Today we can see that climate changes lit bit and it reflects in the cultivation also, tea estates give their way to, cardamom estates and spice gardens. In the evening, check into the magnificent resort at Vandanmedu, set amidst a cardamom & tea estate.

Day 07: Vandanmedu- Thekkady
Distance: 20 Km
Our destination is only at a distance of around 20 Km, of short morning ride.

We will pass through forests, tea gardens and spice plantations. We will reach at Periyar by lunchtime where we can either relax our legs or go for a boating though the lake. Periyar is one of the best wildlife reserves in India and has large herds of Asiatic elephants, Indian Bison as well as tigers. For the ornithologists it has over 330 species of birds including the majestic Great Hornbill.

Day 08:  Thekkady

Today we see a little of the tribal population and their lifestyles before we eat and retire for a fine nights sleep. Overnight Stay.

Day 09: – Thekkady – Kuttikkanam
Distance 36 Km
Kuttikkanam town set against the grasslands of the Western Ghats and the cycling route passes through spectacular sights of the tea gardens that have made this place so beautiful. We will settle down at a resort overlooking the Western Ghats Mountains.

Day 10: Kuttikkanam – Vagamon
Distance 25 Km
Morning we proceed to Vagamon , through narrow roads winding through beautiful tea plantations . Vagamon is surrounded by the greenery of tea gardens, beautiful meadows, deep puzzling valleys and dales. Grass covered hills; velvet lawns and the cool mountain air make Vagamon a perfect holiday retreat. Over night at resort.

Day 11: Vagamon – Palai 38 Km
Morning we will pass through the descending roads to the foothills of western ghats, It’s a beautiful town surrounded by Rubber plantation. Pala has the largest proportion of Roman Catholics in Kerala. The reason why its so often referred among the Catholic circles as the “Mini Vatican of India”. Check in a hotel at Pala, . Evening roam around the town and local sight seeing, it includes rubber plantations, churches etc.

Day 12: Vagamon – Kumarakom
Distance 38 Km
Today is the ride to our final destination, the backwaters town of Kumarakom. The ride through the plains passes through settlements of rubber plantations, farmlands, fruit yards and market places till we reach our destination. Check in at Resort. Rejuvenate your body with a traditional ayurveda massage with medicinal oils and refresh your soul with green splendor of your surroundings and the cool breeze from the lake.

Day 13: Kumarakom
A cruise on the world-renowned rice boats – a luxurious way to see the backwaters & see the life in the backwater countryside villages. Watch village life unfold before you, almost in slow motion while your boat quietly glides through canals that wind across houses and paddy fields. Buy fish just caught from the lake and have it cooked to your taste on the boat. Overnight stay in the boat.

Day 14: Kumarakom – cochin
Return to cochin and rest of the day at leisure . Shopping and roaming on the chart.
Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 15: - Departure
After breakfast proceed to Air port for departure

The weather is moderate, Summer March to May 30 – 37 , Celsius. Monsoons months are June to September. October to February it will be around 25 – 30 Celsius
